We're thrilled to share the news that Roberto Braga is joining Resend.
Today, we're excited to share that Roberto Braga is joining the team. He brings 10+ years of experience building and scaling technology businesses.
As co-founder and CMO of YC-backed BX Blue, he led growth across email marketing, SEO, and paid acquisition, helping scale the company through its acquisition by PicPay, Brazil’s second-largest digital bank. At PicPay, he led organic growth, using SEO and ASO as key levers.
Most recently, he served as Reddit’s Country Growth Lead in Brazil, where he helped double the platform’s DAU through content and partnership-led growth strategies.
How did you get into growth?
When I co-founded BX Blue, we needed someone to acquire and retain users, and I thought that maybe my analytical side could be valuable. Since then, mixing channels, product strategies and experimentation became my passion.
What does your desktop/home screen look like?
I like to stick with the default Mac wallpapers. This Macintosh one caught me, the pixel icons are by the original Mac icon designer. I always try to make my desktop clean, so when I need time to think I can spend some time staring at it with less distractions. But if you want to find mess, take a look at my Downloads folder. I have the habit of quietly dropping everything there.
Why are you at Resend?
After launching and selling a startup, then working for big corporations, I wanted to be closer to the action again. Creating the Growth discipline at Resend sounds exciting. Users are already coming and staying and I'm here to systematize what's driving them, and how we can leverage it. When I talked to Zeno, I found a lot of similarities between Resend's culture and my beliefs.
On a side track, e-mail was always a personal passion. When I was a university lab intern, I was in charge of running the in-house mailserver and fighting spam. At BX Blue, e-mail campaigns were the first channel where we found traction.
Where do you find #inspiration?
I live in Brasília, Brazil, so I'm always looking at the most beautiful sky in the world. Besides that, my family is what fuels me. Doing daddy-and-son jokes with my 6-year-old always gives me fun ideas for crazy tests.
If you weren't doing growth, what would you be doing?
I love to write to dump ideas, and once a friend told me that I'd be a fit as a journalist in a crowded newsroom. If that happened, probably I'd be writing investigative stories about sports (or tech).
Favorite tool?
Excel (okay, now Google Sheets). It's a guilty pleasure to filter, filter, filter until I spot that the answer was there the whole time.
Favorite hotkey?
CTRL + Esc launches Willow Voice for me, and I've been using AI voice transcript a lot these days. It is so fast and engaging.
Favorite place to visit?
Tocantins, the state where I was born and where my parents still live. It is the newest state in Brazil (it was founded in 1989!) and became famous worldwide because of the Jalapão desert.
This is Catedral Nossa Senhora das Mercês in Porto Nacional, my parents' city. It is built of laterite stone ("pedra canga").
Advice for ambitious growth marketers?
Don't stress too much on the newest tools or frameworks. Focus on users and how they solve their pains. Get out of the building and spend some time talking to your target audience IRL.
